GHAZIPUR, UTTAR PRADESH, MAY 04: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha attended the Medhavi Chhatra Samman Samaroh at Dr BR Ambedkar Inter-College, Sadat, Ghazipur. He also addressed a symposium on the idea of an ideal society and educational research.

In his keynote address, the Lt Governor highlighted the works done by thinkers and educationists on inclusive development and overall progressive policy framework that has been cited in various educational research papers and played a critical role in promoting the idea of citizen-centric governance.

“The prime objective of quality education is to prepare students to contribute constructively to nation building and strengthen the progressive policies of future governance to meet the aspiration of society.

In our ancient culture ideas and values of an ideal society, also termed as Ram-Rajya is dedicated to inclusive, progressive and equitable development. It focuses on opportunity for all citizens and empowerment of marginalised sections of society,” the Lt Governor said.

The Lt Governor said that an aspirational society makes its citizens socially, economically and culturally prosperous and it encourages robust development in all sectors. The Lt Governor also felicitated the meritorious students and encouraged them for academic and intellectual pursuits in the future.

JAMMU: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today chaired a high-level meeting to review skill development, entrepreneurship and labour welfare. Senior officials of the Department of Skill Development, Department of Labour & Employment and Mission Youth attended the meeting.

The Lt Governor discussed various issues such as creating convergence of skill development schemes, opportunities and strategy for employment generation across the sectors through entrepreneurship, skill gap analysis and skill mapping for upskilling, reskilling of labour force and youth, and effective, efficient implementation of Healthcare, Social Security schemes for labour welfare and Livelihood Generation Schemes for youth and women.

The Lt Governor laid special emphasis on vital need for upskilling and reskilling of youth and labour workforce as per the evolving skill development landscape to meet the requirement of industries. He called for a whole of government approach towards skill development and providing opportunities for budding entrepreneurs.

The Lt Governor also called for strengthening the measures for protection of workers, including unorganized workers in terms of statutory minimum wage, social security and healthcare of workers.

The Lt Governor directed for streamlining the process for registration of unemployed youth and labourers in the respective departments and to improve employability of local youth in development projects. He also said that Departments should help unorganized workers to register himself or herself on e-Shram portal.

The meeting also discussed and reviewed the progress of various initiatives and schemes such as job fairs, e-Shram Portal, Ease of Doing Business, promotion of Knowledge Based Service Sector and the digital initiatives including development of Common Skilling Dashboard and J&K Youth and Skill mobile application.

NAGROTA: LG Shri Manoj Sinha flagged off the Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Ji Pracheen Marg Pavitra Chhari Yatra earlier today, marking the beginning of this sacred pilgrimage. The event was attended by a large number of devotees who gathered to witness the auspicious occasion.

During the ceremony, LG Shri Manoj Sinha also participated in the Pratham Pooja, a traditional ritual that is performed at the start of the yatra to seek blessings for a safe and successful journey. Following the flagging off of the yatra, he paid obeisance at the holy Kol Kandoli Temple in Nagrota, offering prayers and seeking divine blessings for the well-being of all pilgrims.
