Jammu : Vilakshan Singh President J&K National Panthers Party has termed the Budget 2023-24 as anti poor and anti youth. He said that except for providing tax rebates, no relief has been provided to the masses. He said that the country is witnessing large scale unemployment and the union government while presenting the union budget has done nothing to address the issue of unemployment. He said that even the farmers have got nothing from the budget. The budget has made provisions for providing more loans to the farmers. Singh said that the poor farmers are already suffering due to their inability to pay the loan availed by them. Making provisions for providing enhanced loans to the farmers would not address the problem. Singh also pointed out that the government has also failed to make provisions for controlling the increasing inflation rate in the union budget. He said that the middle class is suffering due to the high rate of inflation and they are finding it difficult to make their both ends meet. But the government has adopted a very causal approach to the said genuine problem of the middle class. Singh also said that widows, specially abled persons and old age persons are getting pensions at very meagre rates but the government has not come to their rescue and has not enhanced the amount of pension payable to such persons. Singh termed the Union Budget as just an eye wash.
