DC Kathua accords approval for construction of 20 tube wells

 

KATHUA, APRIL 08: Deputy Commissioner, Rahul Pandey chaired a meeting to review the implementation of the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district. Superintending Engineer Hydraulic, Ashwani Kumar informed the Deputy Commissioner about the physical and financial progress achieved under the mission.

Out of a total of 820 works, 751 have been tendered for the construction of tube wells, bore wells and piped networks across the district under 299 approved works. The Deputy Commissioner emphasised the need to remove all bottlenecks, including obtaining forest clearance, to achieve saturation of all works within the current fiscal year.

The meeting decided to proceed with the construction of 20 tube wells as part of the District Jal Jeevan Mission plan to improve drinking water infrastructure at identified locations. The Deputy Commissioner also discussed a contingency plan to meet drinking water supply demand during peak summer season in vulnerable parts of the district.
