JAMMU, Jan 19: Dr Varinder Sharma, Co-convenor Professional Cell, BJP J&K has hailed the government for seizing the properties of militants, their sympathisers and overground workers due to which there had been a considerable decrease in militant activities. He said that this fear of properties getting seized has also forced sympathisers of militants to not indulge in any anti-social or anti-India activities which is a good sign.
Lauding the efforts of union home ministry, Jammu and Kashmir Police, National Investigation Agency (NIA) and Enforcement Directorate (ED) besides other investigating agencies in seizing over 500 properties which were either owned by militants or some militant activities were being carried out from there, Dr Varinder Sharma has said this move has created a fear amongst sympathisers of militants who now don’t want their properties like homes, shops or fields to get seized by the government.
Dr Varinder Sharma said that the government is believed to have identified an equal number of more such properties and is keeping a watch of the activities of their inhabitants. Militants during previous regimes in Jammu and Kashmir have had enough of free run. Now it’s the time to nail them and this stringent action of seizing their properties has proved beneficial in ending militancy to a greater extent which is highly appreciable. So far now the government has seized the properties of separatist leaders like Sayed Ali Shah Geelani, Shabir Shah and Mushtaq Ahmad Zargar and more alikes.
From here onwards anyone found involved in any separatist activities or sheltering militants will also face similar action and this is what was needed long before to end militancy, Dr Varinder said adding that those funding militants have also faced similar action across the Union Territory. Right from Srinagar, Ganderbal, Ramban, Kishtwar and other areas of Jammu have seen properties of militants, their sympathisers and also those into drug peddling getting seized.
This action which is very serious in nature has broken the backbone of antisocial and anti-India elements who are now on the run and looking to save their properties. This is how the BJP government is functioning and intends to take action against wrongdoers but create an atmosphere of peace and prosperity for people of Jammu and Kashmir so that they can live in peace and enjoy their lives while seeing their children prosper and progress manifold, Dr Varinder Sharma said.
