3rd Dogra Regiment celebrates 124th Raising Day in Jammu

The veterans of the 3rd Battalion The Dogra Regiment came together to celebrate the 124th Raising Day of the paltan at Sun City Palace, Miran Sahib, Jammu. Brig Prahlad Singh (Retd), 31st Commanding Officer of the battalion graced the occasion as the chief guest. The present Commanding Officer of the paltan also graced the occasion with his presence. The program commenced with paying tribute to the martyrs in a solemn ceremony followed by warm welcome to all attendees by Subedar Major Swaran Kumar Bal (Retd).

Captain Hari Ram Sahib narrated the rich history of the battalion covering the journey of the paltan from its inception in 1900 till date. The 3rd Dogra Regiment was raised in Jalandhar on 12 October 1900 and boasts a 124 year old history full of valour and courage, with significant contributions in various conflicts including World War I, 1965 war and 1971 war. The battalion has distinguished privilege of receiving 13 Battle Honours pre independence and 02 Battle Honours post independence. The battalion is also proud recipient of two theatre honours.

Brig Prahlad Singh (Retd) extended warm greetings to all the officers and soldiers of the battalion. The present Commanding Officer also congratulated all serving and retired officers/JCOs and soldiers and their families on this occasion.

Numerous dignitaries, including Capt Madan Lal, Capt Satpal Saroj, Capt Prem Parkash, Capt Kabhi Raj, Capt Mohan Lal, Capt Davel Ram, Capt Sat Pal, Capt Gopal Dass, Capt KL Sharma, Capt Baj Singh, Capt Joginder Salaria, Sub Sarvjeet, Sub Maj Kamal , Sub Maj Rakesh Khajuria, Sub Swaran Chib, Sub Mukhityar Singh, Sub Narinder Singh, Sub Pawan Kumar, Hav Harbans Lal (Sarpanch) , Hav Ved Parkash, Hav Ajay Chib, Hav Pushpinder Kumar, Hav Vinod Saini, and many other distinguished individuals graced the occasion with their presence.
