JAMMU, MAY 02: In a step towards strengthening the entrepreneurial ecosystem, the Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) on Friday organized an Entrepreneurship and Startup Orientation Program in collaboration with the Model Institute of Engineering and Technology (MIET) here. The program was aimed at sensitizing the participating students about the opportunities and support mechanisms available under the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27.
The program majorly focused on educating the students regarding the role of entrepreneurship and innovation in shaping their career.
Around 40 students participated in the orientation programme, held at JKEDI Bari Brahamana campus, featuring interactive sessions on startup ideation, business plan modeling, and the support of the government under the J&K Startup Policy 2024-27.
The experts from JKEDI provided valuable insights into the various schemes and incentives available for budding entrepreneurs.
Speaking on the occasion, Director JKEDI Khalid Jahangir emphasized the importance of entrepreneurship and startup awareness programmes in nurturing the entrepreneurial spirit among youth. He stressed that these programs shall help the students to think innovatively, understand the basics of entrepreneurship, and explore the path of becoming job creators rather than job seekers.
The session witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students and faculty members along with other officials of the institute. This initiative is a part of JKEDI's broader efforts to nurture the entrepreneurial spirit among the youth in the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, contributing to the economic development of the region by creating new opportunities for innovation and entrepreneurship.
