Labour Deptt Rajouri organises awareness camp on Labour Codes, Social Security schemes
RAJOURI, DECEMBER 31: Department of Labour today organized awareness cum interactive session here in the premises of Government Industrial Training Institute (ITI) to educate the stakeholders regarding the four newly implemented Labour Codes and their far- reaching implications for workers, employers and industrial establishments.
The awareness camp was organized under the supervision of Assistant Labour Commissioner, Pradyot Gupta and attended by stakeholders including workers, employers of the establishments, representatives from Beopar mandal and local Lawyers.
The programme was aimed at enhancing understanding of the recent labour reforms, particularly the Code on Wages, 2019; the Industrial Relations Code, 2020; the Code on Social Security, 2020 and the Occupational Safety, Health and Working Conditions Code, 2020.
The programme was also attended by and addressed by the Principal ITI Ujjwal Mahajan; Vice President Beopar mandal Tahir Sajjad Lone; Advocate Aftab Alam, Advocate Arfan Ahmed Choudhary; Advocate Shajahait Ahmed Jameel and Labour Officer Neeraj Kumar, who were the key speakers on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, the Assistant Labour Commissioner highlighted that the newly enacted labour codes are designed to promote the growth of industrial and commercial activities by fostering a harmonious relationship between employers and workers. He emphasized that the codes provide statutory protection to workmen through preventive, conciliatory, adjudicatory and punitive mechanisms, while also promoting welfare measures to alleviate the hardships of the working class.
The grievances of the stakeholders were also addressed to strengthen and enhance social security coverage.
