New Delhi: In a major push towards modernizing India's judiciary and tackling the massive backlog of cases, Chief Justice of India Justice Surya Kant announced the upcoming launch of an AI-driven digital platform for real-time case tracking across courts.Key features of the initiative include:
- Real-time auto-updated case status — Orders from trial courts, High Courts, and the Supreme Court will sync instantly, creating a unified, transparent repository of pendency data.
- Digital payments through an Integrated Online Payment System (IOPS) for administrative services like AoR exam fees, creche facilities, and more — bringing transparency and eliminating manual hassles.
- Automated records and infrastructure tools, including the newly launched PARKS App (Park Authorisation Record Keeper) for vehicle permissions and campus security.
- District & subordinate courts: Over 4.7 crore pending (majority civil & criminal)
- High Courts: Around 63 lakh+
- Supreme Court: Nearly 93,000 pending
