 LG reiterates Government of India’s commitment to inclusive development of the border areas

The sacred Daati Maa Dev Sthan will be brought to the religious tourism map: LG Sinha

JAMMU, JULY 02: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today visited the border village of Changiya in Arnia Jammu and paid obeisance at Daati Maa Dev Sthan of Mahajan Phagetra Biradari.

The Lieutenant Governor prayed for the well-being of all and peace and prosperity of J&K UT. I also pray to Mata Daati for a safe and smooth pilgrimage for all the devotees of Shri Amarnath Ji, he said.


The Lieutenant Governor lauded the courage displayed by the residents of border villages during Operation Sindoor.

He reiterated the commitment of the Government of India to the inclusive development of the border areas.

“Border areas are the first line of defence. Vibrant Village Programme is transforming our border villages through improved infrastructure, and it will be ensured that the villages of this area will be taken up under the programme,” he said. 

Responding to the demands, the Lieutenant Governor assured that appropriate steps will be taken by the GoI to bring the sacred Daati Maa Dev Sthan on the religious tourism map.

The Lieutenant Governor appreciated all the members of Akhil Bharatiya Mahajan Phagetra Biradari for their valuable contribution to the development of the Daati Maa Dev Sthan.

JAMMU, JULY 02: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha flagged off the first batch of devotees for the pilgrimage to the holy cave of Shri Amarnath Ji, from Bhagwati Nagar Base Camp, today.

The Lieutenant Governor extended his best wishes to all the pilgrims for a safe and blissful journey.


“This sacred pilgrimage is a journey of faith and self-discovery. Wishing all spiritual seekers a safe and comfortable journey to the holy abode of Lord Shiva and deep soul-stirring experience,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

Interacting with the media persons, the Lieutenant Governor said the administration, people of Jammu & Kashmir,  Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, J&K Police, and security forces have made elaborate arrangements for the pilgrims.

“More than 4,500 devotees set off to the holy Cave Shrine in the first batch for the darshan of Baba Barfani today. Jammu city has come alive with a new vibrancy. The enthusiasm of pilgrims is very high.

Undeterred by terror incidents, devotees of Bhole Baba are arriving in huge numbers, demonstrating their immense faith. I hope that this year's Yatra will be even more historic than previous years,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

Eminent spiritual leaders; heads of religious organizations; public representatives; senior officers of civil administration, Police, security forces and Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, prominent citizens, and devotees in large number were present at the Flag-off ceremony.

Yatri Niwas at Baltal will be dedicated to Pilgrims on July 04: LG

JAMMU, JULY 01: On the eve of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today attended the ‘Tawi Aarti’ at Tawi Riverfront Jammu.

The Lieutenant Governor sought the blessings of Suryaputri River Tawi and Baba Barfani and prayed for a peaceful, blessed and a memorable pilgrimage for all the devotees.

“Entire J&K is experiencing spiritual bliss on the eve of holy pilgrimage of Shri Amarnath Ji. People of J&K are ready to welcome devotees of Baba Barfani coming from across the country. May Lord Shiva bless everyone with health, happiness and harmony,” the Lieutenant Governor said.


The Lieutenant Governor extended his felicitations to Jammu Municipal Corporation, Department of Tourism, Jammu Smart City Limited and Shri Raghunath Ji Corridor Vikas Council Jammu for organising the Tawi Aarti.

The Lieutenant Governor, in his address, highlighted Jammu Kashmir's extraordinary journey towards peace, prosperity, and unprecedented development over the past few years.

Common citizens and intellectuals of the society are engaged in the transformation of Jammu and Kashmir which is highly commendable, he said.

The Lieutenant Governor also commended the entire team of Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board for performing its duties with dedication and devotion for the pilgrims. He said the Yatri Niwas at Baltal will be dedicated to Pilgrims on July 04.

Since 2022 facilities for pilgrims are significantly improved. I pray to Lord Shiva to make the journey of devotees successful and all their wishes come true, he said.

“World’s eyes are on this yatra. The devotees' resolve is unshakeable; no threats can deter their spirit. With the cooperation and support of everyone, this year’s Yatra will be even more historic than previous years,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor urged all the civil society members, enlightened citizens to join the flag-off ceremony of the first batch of Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra 2025 at Yatri Niwas tomorrow morning. He asked the media persons to spread awareness among the pilgrims to travel in designated convoys.

The Lieutenant Governor also sought the support from all sections of the society to make the Tawi Aarti a continuous event.

LG directs for widespread publicity of Traffic Advisory so that common man is not inconvenienced

SRINAGAR, JULY 01: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today chaired a high-level meeting with the senior officers and reviewed the final preparations for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Atal Dulloo; Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department Shri Shaleen Kabra; DGP Shri Nalin Prabhat; Special Director General (Coordination), PHQ, Shri S.J.M Gillani; Principal Secretary Home Shri Chandraker Bharti; Principal Secretary, Finance Shri Santosh D Vaidya; ADGP CID Shri Nitish Kumar; Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor and CEO SASB Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari and senior officials of SASB, Police and Civil Administration.


The Lieutenant Governor took a comprehensive review of the traffic & security management and all the arrangements in place by the stakeholder departments for the smooth, safe and hassle-free holy pilgrimage. 

The Lieutenant Governor directed the officials for widespread publicity of Traffic Advisory so that common man is not inconvenienced. District Administrations, SSPs, Traffic Police and Stakeholder departments should work in close coordination to ensure movement of pilgrims in designated convoys and smooth implementation of the traffic plan, he said.

He further directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that Lodgement centres and sanitation units are in good condition.

SRINAGAR, JULY 01: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today chaired a high-level meeting and discussed the issues concerning victim families whose loved ones were brutally killed by Pakistan-backed terrorists.

The Lieutenant Governor directed the Deputy Commissioners and SSPs to reopen cases which were deliberately buried and file an FIR and ensure jobs are provided to Next of Kins (NoKs) on priority.  He further directed them to take immediate measures to free terror victim families’ property and land grabbed by terrorists or their sympathisers.

Identify those elements from terror ecosystem who were involved in killing of Common Kashmiris and currently working in Government Departments. Financial assistance under MUDRA and handholding must be extended to the terror victim family members who want to start their self-employment venture, the Lieutenant Governor told the officials. 

The Lieutenant Governor said a Special Cell will be established in LG Secretariat to address concerns of terror victim families. He further asked the Chief Secretary to set up a similar cell in his office.  A Toll-free number should also be notified for the assistance of Terror victim families, he said.

SRINAGAR, JULY 01: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today flagged off the fleet of Ambulances for the Hospitals in Ramban and Anantnag Districts.

A total 5 Ambulances were donated by National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) through M/S Quazigund Expressway Private Limited for Hospitals at Qazigund, Banihal, Ramban, Batote, and Gool, under Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR). The deployment of the Ambulances will strengthen emergency healthcare services and ensure timely medical care to the people.


The Lieutenant Governor appreciated the NHAI and M/S Quazigund Expressway Private limited for their noble initiative.

He also asked the Deputy Commissioner Ramban to explore the possibilities for Hospital on Wheels for the remote areas of the district to ensure equitable, and quality healthcare to all.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 27: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha interacted with National Cadet Corps (NCC) Cadets at the Special National Integration Camp, today at Chinar Auditorium, Badami Bagh Cantt, Srinagar.

In his address, the Lieutenant Governor commended the NCC Directorate, J&K and Ladakh, Headquarters 15 Corps and Headquarters 31 Sub Area for organising Special National Integration Camp to provide an opportunity to expose youth from various parts of the country to the rich culture and traditions of J&K and present inspiring example of unity in diversity.


“National Cadet Corps shapes young minds and proudly serves society and the nation. NCC cadets have displayed courage and novel approach to challenges to societal progress. Priceless values like discipline, team work, leadership and dedication have helped the NCC cadets to build a better future,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor highlighted the invaluable contribution of National Cadet Corps, one of the largest and most dynamic youth organizations in the country, to strengthening national unity. He said, the NCC has preserved and promoted nation's cultural values and traditions.


“I see the talented young men and women of the NCC as the custodians of India's ancient civilization. Also, the NCC cadets from across the country, participating in this Special National Integration Camp, will become brand ambassadors of Jammu and Kashmir,” the Lieutenant Governor said.


The Lieutenant Governor called upon the youth to inculcate the spirit of ‘Nation First’ and motivate people to discharge their duties towards the nation.

“Youth are our hope for a brighter future. Youth are the most valuable assets for any region and government. Youth are the true catalysts of change in society. Youth must imbibe the profound values of the NCC – discipline, unity, leadership, and selfless service and work collectively to realise the vision of Viksit Bharat,” the Lieutenant Governor said.


He said the message should also be conveyed through the Special National Integration Camp that the participation of the youth in the planning and development process at the grassroots level should be ensured so that socio-economic development can be fully realized.

The NCC should be seen as a bridge between the administration and youth aspirations. By leveraging the NCC’s network and connect, we can ensure the active participation of youth in various nation-building activities.


This special camp is also an opportunity to reflect on the progress made in achieving the goal of youth-led development and to prepare a roadmap for the future, the Lieutenant Governor further said.

The Lieutenant Governor lauded NCC Cadets’ remarkable efforts during Operation Sindoor. “Our NCC cadets rose to the occasion during difficult times. Beyond their selfless service in relief camps across border districts, they also proactively organized blood donation drives. Through these commendable deeds, they have unequivocally elevated the prestige of NCC,” he said.


On the occasion, NCC cadets delivered captivating performances that vividly showcased India's rich and diverse cultures. As many as 340 cadets and NCC officers from all over the country are participating in the camp.
