RSS Chief Dr. Mohan Bhagwat and renowned singer Shankar Mahadevan launching the newly arranged collection of Sangh Centenary songs in Nagpur

Nagpur, September 28, 2025: In a significant event marking the upcoming centenary of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), the organization’s Chief, Dr. Mohan Rao Bhagwat, today officially released a newly arranged collection of Sangh Geets (RSS songs). The songs, including the core ‘Sangh Prarthana’ (RSS Prayer), have been presented in a new musical format, featuring the voice of celebrated musician Shri Shankar Mahadevan.

The launch ceremony took place in Nagpur, the headquarters of the RSS, and was organized by the Khansdar (MP) Cultural Festival Committee. The initiative is part of the extensive celebrations planned by the RSS as it approaches its 100th year of foundation, which started in 1925.

Focus on Devotion and Resolve

The newly composed collection blends contemporary musical arrangements with the traditional, patriotic spirit of the songs. The aim is to make these songs—which have been central to the daily 'Shakha' activities of volunteers for decades—appeal to both long-time members and the younger generation. The song recording involved a large effort, with arrangements recorded in studios abroad.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Mohan Bhagwat highlighted the profound meaning of the 'Sangh Prarthana'. He stated that the prayer is more than just a song; it is the organization's collective resolution and an expression of devotion, love, and dedication towards Bharat Mata (Mother India). Dr. Bhagwat emphasized that the spirit of the prayer symbolizes the strength of resolve among all volunteers.

Centenary Milestone

The RSS is set to celebrate its centenary year from Vijayadashami 2025 to Vijayadashami 2026. This release of the new song collection acts as a major cultural event in the run-up to the main celebrations. The organization, founded by Dr. K.B. Hedgewar, continues to use these songs to foster a spirit of unity and national pride among its members.

The cultural event saw the attendance of several key figures, including Union Minister Nitin Gadkari and former Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis.
