Tour aimed to promote the picturesque tourism spots of the district

SHOPIAN, SEPTEMBER 05: In order to highlight and promote the virgin tourist destinations of the district, the District Information Centre (DIC) Shopian today conducted a media exposure tour to Dubjan -Peer Ki Gali tourist hotspots in Shopian district.

The media tour to Dubjan and Peer Ki Gali is the District Administration’s one of the promotional exercises to promote newly notified tourist destinations of the district.

Media persons belonging to different national and local organisations took part in the exposure tour and highlighted the Tourist activities and infrastructural interventions being made to develop the eco-tourism potential of the tourist circuit.

The area is known for many mesmerizing and breathtaking spots, including the Heerpora Wildlife Sanctuary, along the historic Mughal Road and the twin springs of Dubjan besides Mughal Sarai, and multiple trekking routes.

The area offers scenic pleasure for tourists and travelers alike. Expansive Rambiara with its clear waters and dense forests, excite one and all who embark on the journey towards the Peer Ki Gali.

The area is being developed by the Dubjan – Peer Ki Gali Tourism Development Authority in many ways ranging from building hutment areas, cafeterias, development of parks, walkways and creating public convenience points, among other interventions, said CEO, Ghalib Hussain.

He said efforts are being made to lure tourists and provide them all sorts of facilities for a comfortable journey.

The area also comes under the Tourist Network Plan of Mission Youth which has many incentives to offer for locals for developing tourist infrastructure and building livelihood of the local population.

The media persons were also felicitated on the occasion for their endeavours of highlighting developmental and welfare measures of the government in the district.
