LG directs for widespread publicity of Traffic Advisory so that common man is not inconvenienced

SRINAGAR, JULY 01: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today chaired a high-level meeting with the senior officers and reviewed the final preparations for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The meeting was attended by Chief Secretary Shri Atal Dulloo; Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti Department Shri Shaleen Kabra; DGP Shri Nalin Prabhat; Special Director General (Coordination), PHQ, Shri S.J.M Gillani; Principal Secretary Home Shri Chandraker Bharti; Principal Secretary, Finance Shri Santosh D Vaidya; ADGP CID Shri Nitish Kumar; Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor and CEO SASB Dr Mandeep K. Bhandari and senior officials of SASB, Police and Civil Administration.


The Lieutenant Governor took a comprehensive review of the traffic & security management and all the arrangements in place by the stakeholder departments for the smooth, safe and hassle-free holy pilgrimage. 

The Lieutenant Governor directed the officials for widespread publicity of Traffic Advisory so that common man is not inconvenienced. District Administrations, SSPs, Traffic Police and Stakeholder departments should work in close coordination to ensure movement of pilgrims in designated convoys and smooth implementation of the traffic plan, he said.

He further directed the Deputy Commissioners to ensure that Lodgement centres and sanitation units are in good condition.

LG also reviews progress of Disaster Management and Yatri Niwas Complex, inspects healthcare facilities at Base Camp Hospital

SRINAGAR, JUNE 30: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today visited Baltal Base Camp and reviewed the preparedness ahead of Shri Amarnath Ji annual pilgrimage, scheduled to commence on July 03.

At Baltal, the Lieutenant Governor interacted with the Camp officials and reviewed the arrangements for healthcare, power, communication, water supply, sanitation, food, lodging, weather forecasting, traffic management, surveillance and maintenance of track, security grid and emergency services.


The Lieutenant Governor directed the officials to ensure round the clock availability of all the basic amenities with adequate manpower for the convenience of the pilgrims.

During his visit, the Lieutenant Governor conducted the on-site inspection and ascertained the progress of the Disaster Management and Yatri Niwas Complex of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board.

He also made a visit to the hospital at Baltal Base Camp, and inspected the healthcare facilities for the pilgrims and inaugurated a training ward for medical staff.

Bhandari, Principal Secretary to Lieutenant Governor and CEO, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board; Shri Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; Shri VK Birdi, IGP Kashmir; Dr. Shahid Iqbal Choudhary, Secretary, Science & Technology Department; Shri Jatin Kishore, Deputy Commissioner, Ganderbal and senior officials of SASB, Police, Security Forces and stakeholder departments.

SRINAGAR, JUNE 30: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today inaugurated the Yatri Niwas of Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board at Pantha Chowk, Srinagar and dedicated the new facility to Shri Amarnath Ji pilgrims. The Yatri Niwas has been built through donation and it will accommodate 1300 pilgrims.


“This Yatri Niwas is a symbol of our dedication and commitment to provide better facilities for devotees of Baba Barfani and make their pilgrimage more comfortable and safer.

The construction of the second phase of Yatri Niwas will begin soon. It symbolises devotion to selfless service. Let us pray to Baba Amarnath to bless our land with peace, happiness and prosperity,” the Lieutenant Governor said.

The Lieutenant Governor expressed his gratitude to Shri Mukesh Garg, Member, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board, his team members and Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board for their invaluable contribution in building the Yatri Niwas for the pilgrims.


Interacting with the media persons, the Lieutenant Governor said that the Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board is making continuous efforts to improve facilities for the pilgrims.

“A wave of enthusiasm is sweeping across Jammu and Kashmir. This Yatra is deeply rooted in the spirit of Jammu and Kashmir, drawing full support and cooperation from its people,” he said.

On the occasion, the Lieutenant Governor also unveiled a painting on Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra, by Shri KK Gandhi.



The Five floors of the Yatri Niwas building dedicated to the Yatris are comprised of total 75 rooms having a bed capacity of 225, and 43 dorm rooms.
