 VIJAYPUR, DECEMBER 15: Principal Secretary, Public Works (R&B) and Agriculture and Farmer Welfare Departments, Shailendra Kumar, today joined the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra at Vijaypur Panchayat.

Principal Secretary alongwith all the officers, Panchayati Raj Institutions (PRI) members and locals took the Sankalp pledge to work for progress and prosperity of the nation. They also listened to the Prime Minister's message through the Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Van.

The occasion was marked by cultural performances on the theme of "Dharti Kahe Pukar Ke" by school students. The theme reflects the need to protect the environment and promote sustainable development. Besides, the beneficiaries of various government schemes also shared their stories under the "Meri Kahani Meri Zubaani" program.

Shailendra Kumar felicitated the sports persons, students, and other achievers from the area. He also appreciated the children for their talent and enthusiasm.

Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary stated that it is the collective responsibility of all the government departments as well as the citizens to ensure that India turns into a developed nation by 2047. He urged upon the people to participate in the Sankalp Yatra and contribute towards nation building.

The event was also attended by Abhishek Sharma, Deputy Commissioner Samba; Subhra Sharma, Director Animal Husbandry Jammu; Ram Sewak, Director Horticulture Jammu; Nagendra Jamwal, Director Command Area Development; DDC member Sudarshan Slathia  and other officers of district administration.




Vijaypur OCTOBER 27- Senior BJP leader and former minister Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia today paid rich tributes to Brigadier Rajinder Singh, the dedicated and highly decorated Dogra soldier of the Maharaja Hari Singhji’s army, saying that his strong resistance to Pakistani raiders to save Kashmir and subsequent supreme sacrifice this day in 1947 will always inspire those loving their beloved motherland.

“Mahavir Chakra recipient warrior made the nation in general and the Duggarland in particular proud by his supreme sacrifice and left an indelible mark of heroism that remains the golden chapter of our military history”, Mr Slathia said while speaking at a homage giving function on the 77th Shaheedi Diwas of Brigadier Rajinder Singh at Village Rajinder Singh Pura (Bagoona)

Mr Slathia said the sacrifice of Brigadier Rajinder Singh and his men in defending the integrity and sovereignty of the nation in Kashmir during most testing times has been a guiding force for the compatriots to remain at the forefront and foil the machinations of the enemy. The indebted nation has all along been bowing its head with respect and deep esteem for the Saviour of Kashmir, he said, adding that his martyrdom will continue to inspire generations for serving the nation in whatever capacity they can.

Mr Slathia said this is also an occasion to remember the martyrdom of brave-hearts, who continue to sacrifice their lives for the nation. The biggest tribute to great heroes is to create a strong and stable nation wherein people live in peace and harmony. He lauded the patriotic spirit of the people in remembering the great son of soil, saying this reflects their love and esteem for the warrior.

‘In fact, it is in consonance with the great heritage and legacy of the Duggerland that has always stood like a rock behind heroes of the nation”, Mr Slathia observed.

“We salute the martyrdom of Brig Rajinder Singh and bow before the courage of Maharaja Hari Singhji valiant forces under his command during the horrendous days of 1947, when they laid their lives to save the paradise on earth ”, Mr Slathia said and led the people of the area in paying floral tributes to the Dogra warrior.

The various other leaders also paid tributes to Brig Rajinder Singh and hailed his supreme sacrifice in saving the people and the Valley of Kashmir.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Sudershan Singh, Sarpanch; Brijpal Singh, Jatinder Singh, Daljeet Singh, Baldev Kumar, Panch, Udham Singh, Sabar Singh, Vice President BJP Samba, Vijay Singh and others.

 


Vijaypur September 23:- Paying floral tributes to Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on his 128th Birth Anniversary, former minister and Pradesh BJP Vice President Mr. Surjeet Singh Slathia, today said the Maharaja Sahib’s vision about social justice and governance besides various other reforms made him the bellowed ruler of the masses and his legacy continues to influence the region’s historical narrative. 

“Today we commemorate the birth anniversary of Maharaja Hari Singh Ji, a distinguished and visionary leader who played a pivotal role in the history of the princely state of Jammu and Kashmir, Maharaja Sahib’s legacy continues to inspire generations, reminding us of his immense contribution to the socio-economic and political development of the region”, he said while speaking at homage giving function at Gurha Slathia in Vijaypur Assembly Constituency.

 

He said Maharaja Hari Singh Ji was not only a benevolent ruler but also a proponent of modernization and reform in his kingdom. He ushered in various progressive initiatives, such, such as the abolition of untouchability, promotion of education, and the establishment of healthcare facilities, which significantly improved the quality of life for the people of Jammu and Kashmir, he added

 

Mr Slathia said signing of the Instrument of Accession to India by Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on October 26 1947 marked the integration of Jammu and Kashmir into the newly independent nation. This pivotal decision, he said laid the foundation of the regions’ development and its participation in the democratic process of India.

 

As we pay tribute to Maharaja Hari Singh Ji on his birth anniversary, it is an opportunity to remember his role in shaping the history of Jammu and Kashmir. His leadership, decisions, and commitment to the welfare of the people continue to be an inspiration for all of us, he added.

 

On this occasion, he said it is essential to reflect upon his contributions to the socio-economic development of the region. During his rule, Maharaja Hari Singh initiated several reforms aimed at modernizing the state. These reforms included efforts to improve education, healthcare, and infrastructure, which laid the foundation for progress in the region Mr Slathia said.

 

He said Maharaja Hari Singh's reign also witnessed cultural and religious tolerance, fostering an environment of coexistence among the diverse communities in the region. His commitment to the welfare of all his subjects is a testament to his visionary leadership, he added.

 

He also called upon everyone to take a moment to remember and honour Maharaja Sahib on this significant day.

 


SAMBA, SEPTEMBER 12: NSS Unit (KHIDMAT) of Government Degree College Vijaypur, in collaboration with Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute, Samba organised a day-long workshop on Startup and Entrepreneurship here under the aegis Gandhi Jayanti Celebrations 2023- Nasha Mukt Bharat and Bhrashtachar Mukt J&K.

The workshop was aimed at providing students with various entrepreneurship ideas to start their own setup for employment. NSS volunteers and all other college students participated in the workshop with great enthusiasm, fervour and zeal.

The event commenced with the welcome address by Dr. Shittal Sharma (Convenor IQAC and NSS).  She shared her views on entrepreneurship as extraction and creation of economic values.

The resource persons Vishal Ray, I/C Start Up and Incubation Centre and Divisional Officer Jammu and   Virpratap Singh Slathia, District Nodal Officer Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Samba shared various government schemes for entrepreneurship development. Students actively participated in the workshop and raised several queries related to entrepreneurship, which were satisfactorily responded by the resource persons.

The workshop was conducted under the   guidance of Dr. Vandana Gupta, Principal of the College.

In her address to the participating students, she said that the workshop has provided the students with the ability and readiness to develop, organize and run a business enterprise, along with any of its uncertainties in order to make a profit. She congratulated the resource persons for imparting startup and entrepreneurship knowledge to the students. Mementos were presented to the resource persons as a token of appreciation by the Principal. The whole event was coordinated by Dr. Shittal Sharma.  The formal vote of thanks was presented by Dr. Naseem Chowdhary (NSS PO).

VIJAYPUR JUNE 11- Former minister and Senior Vice President BJP, Mr Surjeet Singh Slathia today spelled out the achievements of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his nine year government, saying one of the major highlights has been restoration of peace in Jammu and Kashmir, making it safe destination for travellers and investors from across the world.

Addressing  people during Maha Jansamparak Abhyan, to mark the completion of the nine years of the Modi government, along with senior BJP karyakartas at    village Swankha  in the Ramgarh Assembly Constituency, Mr Slathia referred to the recently concluded three day Working Group meeting of G20 Conclave in Srinagar and said this reflected the changing times in Kashmir and peoples deep yearning for peace and stability’.

He said more than doubling of the investment in J&K to Rs 75,000 crore by this year end, five times the investment happened in the past 74 years holds promise about the huge turnaround in the economic and developmental scenario in the Union Territory. While the influx of tourists has crossed all time high mark of 1.80 crore last year, this year the numbers are expected to go over two crore, which reflects the success of various initiatives taken during the past nearly four years, post abrogation of Article 370, he added.

Mr Slathia also noted with satisfaction the efforts being made to harness J&K’s hydel potential optimally, saying the target to double the generation in the next three years and three times in seven years will make a huge difference as far as meeting the domestic requirements and in turn giving fillip to economic landscape of the Union Territory. He hoped that the power generation on Tawi basin will prove a game changer not only in terms of achieving self-reliance but also generating jobs for the local skilled, unskilled and educated work-force.

He said that Jammu and Kashmir is witnessing a new era of hope and promise with the era of despondency becoming a nightmare of the past. He dwelt in detail about various path breaking measures taken across Jammu and Kashmir during recent years with an avowed objective of ensuring development, creating infrastructural facilities, strengthening utility services and giving fillip to growth as a result of massive investments. He said the investments will manifest in industrialization on a mega scale thus opening vistas of opportunities for economic empowerment and generation of jobs for professionals, technocrats, educated unemployed besides skilled and unskilled workforce.

Mr Slathia asserted that the BJP believes in inclusive Jammu and Kashmir, with every segment of society, irrespective of region, religion, race or caste having equal opportunities to prosper and progress and equal rights in the governance. The people's power will triumph under the cherished agenda of Modi’s Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas, he maintained.

Mr. Slathia said the Prime Minister’s vision of Atma Nirbhar (self-reliant) Bharat is Sashaktikaran (empowerment) of all, irrespective of religion, region or caste. It is with this mantra that every BJP Karyakarta is reaching out to the people, making them aware about the schemes tailored by the government for their welfare, listen to their problems and make every effort in getting these resolved by taking up the grievances or issues with appropriate forums in the administration, he added.

The Senior Vice President emphasized the need for sustaining the prevailing era of peace and harmony, saying this is key to taking the Union Territory to a new era of progress and development. A situation has to be created towards growth in the traditional sectors for generating employment. Large scale investments mean wider opportunities to prosper, he said, adding that a grand beginning has already been made due to concerted efforts of the Centre and the UT administration and this momentum has to be taken to its logical conclusion, Mr Slathia added.
