Jammu and Srinagar Athletes Dazzle with Record-Breaking Performances at
IDPS Pool

The Department of Youth Services & Sports (DYSS), Jammu and Kashmir, successfully
organized the Inter-District Swimming Championship 2025 at IDPS School, Sujwan, Jammu,
showcasing exceptional talent and sportsmanship among young swimmers from across the
Union Territory.
The final day of the boys’ championship witnessed a series of exhilarating races and nail-
biting finishes as participants from Jammu and Srinagar districts competed fiercely across
various categories and strokes. The event reflected not only the swimmers’ skill and
determination but also the growing popularity of swimming as a competitive sport in the
region.
Under-17 and Under-19 Events
In the Under-17 100-meter Freestyle, Musa Parvaiz (Jammu) captured gold with a stellar
timing of 1:02:32, while Barkat Ali (Srinagar) and Divyan Aggarwal (Jammu) claimed silver
and bronze, respectively. The 50-meter Backstroke (U-17) saw Abdul Alim (Srinagar)
dominate with a winning time of 43:21, followed by Barkat Ali (Srinagar) and Aariv Gupta
(Jammu).
In the Under-19 50-meter Butterfly, Kartikaya Choudhary (Jammu) triumphed with an
impressive 00:33:10, edging out Junaid (Srinagar) and Kousar Ali (Srinagar), who took silver
and bronze.
Under-14 Races Highlight Emerging Talent
The Under-14 events drew some of the most exciting performances of the championship. In
the 100-meter Breaststroke, Rajvardhan Singh (Jammu) struck gold, followed by Dakar
Viran Yadav (Jammu) and Abrar Ali (Srinagar). The 50-meter Freestyle was dominated by
Aryan Parbhakar (Jammu), who clocked a lightning-fast 29:30, ahead of Ayansh Gupta
(Jammu) and Mehdi Mushtaq (Srinagar).
Aryan continued his winning streak in the 50-meter Butterfly, clinching another gold with
35:17. Adnan Hussain (Srinagar) finished second, while Faheem Ali (Srinagar) was
disqualified. In the 50-meter Backstroke, Pratyaksh Parma (Jammu) claimed first place,
followed by Ayanesh Gupta (Jammu) and Mustazir Ali (Srinagar).
The two-day championship drew widespread appreciation from coaches, parents, and
officials, who praised the young athletes for their enthusiasm and discipline. The Department
of Youth Services & Sports commended IDPS School Sujwan for hosting the event
successfully and ensuring a well-coordinated and encouraging environment for the
swimmers.
The Inter-District Swimming Championship 2025 concluded on a high note, celebrating
teamwork, determination, and the spirit of healthy competition—hallmarks of Jammu and
Kashmir’s growing sports culture.
