High-Security Zone Incident: Delhi Police and Special Cell Investigating Cause of Blast.

New Delhi, November 10, 2025 (Monday): An explosion in a parked car near the Red Fort Metro Station late Monday evening resulted in the death of one person and injuries to four others, triggering a high security alert across the National Capital.

The incident occurred around 6:30 PM near Gate Number 1 of the Lal Quila Metro Station, a bustling and highly sensitive area close to the historic Red Fort monument. The blast immediately caused a fire, which quickly spread to three to four nearby vehicles. Videos shared from the scene showed dense smoke billowing from the burning cars, causing immediate chaos among commuters and pedestrians.

The Delhi Fire Services (DFS) responded quickly, deploying seven fire tenders to control the blaze. Fire officials confirmed that the fire has been extinguished, and cooling operations are now underway. The injured individuals were rushed to the nearby Lok Nayak Jai Prakash (LNJP) Hospital for emergency treatment. The identity of the deceased is yet to be officially confirmed by the authorities.

As of the latest update, the official cause of the explosion remains unknown. Police sources have stated that they are investigating all possibilities, including a potential mechanical failure (like an Oxygen cylinder explosion or a fuel tank burst) and other angles. However, authorities have yet to issue a verified statement confirming the nature of the explosion.

A senior police official, speaking on condition of anonymity, stated: "We have collected samples from the site and our priority is to determine if the explosion was accidental or due to external factors. A full report will be released only after forensic experts complete their analysis."

The Delhi government has advised the public to avoid the area near the Red Fort Metro Station to allow investigators and emergency services to work without disruption. Further updates on the cause of the blast and the condition of the injured are expected early tomorrow morning, following initial forensic findings.
