580 booths operational today; door-to-door drive on December 22–23
KATHUA, DECEMBER 21: Deputy Commissioner Kathua Rajesh Sharma today kick-started the Pulse Polio Immunization Programme by administering polio drops to children here at Government Mahatma Gandhi Child and Maternity Hospital Kathua.
The DC informed that approximately 92,000 children are being targeted during the three-day drive. He said that dedicated efforts are being made to ensure 100 percent coverage with the active involvement of ASHA workers, Anganwadi workers, mobile teams, transit teams and supervisory staff particularly in identified high-risk areas.
Emphasizing community participation, the Deputy Commissioner urged parents and guardians to proactively bring their children to the nearest vaccination booths and cooperate with door-to-door teams so that no child is left unvaccinated.
