Calls for effective implementation of self-employment initiatives

Emphasizes quality education and improved service delivery in key sectors

ANANTNAG, SEPTEMBER 27:Chief Secretary, Atal Dulloo visited Anantnag today and chaired a comprehensive meeting with the concerned officers at Dak Bangalow Khanabal to review the overall developmental scenario of the district along with the implementation of various government schemes and welfare initiatives.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, SF Hamid, Principal, GMC Anantnag; ADCs; DPO; GM, DIC; ACR; ACD; SDMs, and other district and sectoral officers attended the meeting.

At the outset, the Deputy Commissioner presented an overview of the overall developmental landscape and welfare schemes besides the progress on deliverables and key initiatives like Mission Yuva, NMBA, TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan, HADP, PMSGMBY, and JK Samadhan, among others, of the district. He briefed the chair about the status of beneficiary schemes in different departments, along with the progress of ongoing infrastructural projects in Health, Education, RDD, R&B, PHE, Power, and other key sectors.

Addressing the meeting, the Chief Secretary instructed the officers to ensure effective implementation and saturation of various Central and UT-sponsored schemes, especially in Health, Education, Social Welfare, Horticulture, and Agriculture, adding that their time-bound execution is vital for extending essential benefits to the people. He noted that schemes and programmes such as PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojna, PM Vishwakarma, Mission Yuva, and HADP are beneficial, and that the concerned departments should strive to extend their benefits to the citizens.

While reviewing the health and education sectors, the Chief Secretary remarked that appreciable progress has been made in building infrastructure; however, the quality of education and health care must be prioritised to achieve further improvement in these key sectors.

The Chief Secretary impressed upon the concerned officers to ensure effective implementation of self-employment schemes, adding that banks should ease the credit lending process in order to generate meaningful livelihoods for youth.

Recognising the potential of the district in agriculture and allied sectors, the Chief Secretary stressed that the concerned departments shall ensure enhanced productivity and the establishment of profitable and sustainable units across the district to generate sustainable livelihood for the youth here.

ANANTNAG, AUGUST 14: As part of the ongoing Har Ghar Tiranga campaign, a mega Tiranga Rally led by Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, S F Hamid was held today at Anantnag.

SSP, Amritpal Singh, ADCs, ACR, ACD, and other senior officers from civil and police administration, besides engineering wings also participated in the event.

Witnessing enthusiastic participation from thousands of citizens coming from diverse walks of life, the rally commenced from Sports Stadium and culminated at Janglat Mandi. The colorful and vibrant rally signified a spirited and vibrant show of patriotism, unity and collective resolve to uphold dignity of the nation.

As the grand rally passed through Mehdi Kadal, Lal Chowk and Ganjiwara, before culminating at Janglat Mandi; the participants marched with pride and honor with the Tricolour held aloft and high reflecting a sense of collective pride and resilience.

During the rally, songs glorifying freedom fighters and on patriotic themes were played lending the streets a lively and jubilant ambience.

Notably, 1.5 km Tiranga was also carried by the participants and the volunteers all along which created an incredible spectacle as the rally marched ahead.

Anantnag, Jammu and Kashmir (June 4, 2025): Iltija Mufti, leader of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) and daughter of former Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti, has described the inauguration of the Chenab Bridge by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on June 6, 2025 as a positive step. However, she has also expressed concern over the environmental and passenger amenities issues associated with the project.

Iltija Mufti said, "This is a step that we should appreciate, but I would like to say that near Anantnag, near Pahalgam, they want to set up rail tracks through orchards. We should be more cautious. Kashmir is ecologically very fragile, but this is a welcome step." She further said that the Prime Minister's visit here is a good thing, though he was supposed to come last month but could not.

She also highlighted the passenger inconveniences associated with the operation of the railway line. Iltija Mufti said, "This railway line is very inconvenient for the passengers here as they are disembarked at Katra for security checks and there is a long delay of 2-3 hours. These things should be taken care of."

The Chenab Bridge, which is the world's highest railway bridge, was completed in August 2022 and is part of the Jammu-Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project. The project aims to connect the Kashmir Valley with the rest of India. However, the project has raised concerns over its impact on the local environment and ecology.

Iltija Mufti's comments underline how important it is to strike a balance between infrastructure development and local concerns. Her words not only emphasize the need for environmental protection but also call for improving passenger amenities.

This development reflects the challenge of striking a balance between ongoing development projects in Jammu and Kashmir and the concerns of local communities. Iltija Mufti's words emphasise that before pursuing any development project, the local ecology and public needs must be taken into consideration.

Conducts extensive tour of Kokernag Constituency

Reviews functioning, status of infrastructure of various healthcare facilities, educational institutions

KOKERNAG (ANANTNAG), MAY 23: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena  Itoo today conducted an extensive tour of Kokernag Constituency during which she reviewed functioning as well as status of infrastructure of various healthcare facilities and educational institutions in the area.

MLA Kokernag, Choudhary Zafar Ali Khatana; MLA Zainapora, Showkat Hussain Ganie; Director Social Welfare Kashmir, Director School Education Kashmir, Director Colleges J&K, Director Family Welfare & Immunization, Director Health Services Kashmir, Director AYUSH J&K, ADC Anantnag, Programme Officer ICDS Anantnag, SDM Kokernag and other senior officers from  Health, Social Welfare, and Education departments accompanied the Minister.


During the visit, Minister Sakeena inspected Sub-District hospital Kokernag, PHC Larnoo, PHC Gadole, PHC Wandevelgam, GDC Larnoo and took first hand appraisal of the functioning of these healthcare facilities and educational institutions.

At SDH Kokernag, Minister Sakeena took detailed round of the hospital and assessed the facilities available for the general public. She inspected various departments, interacted with staff and patients and took feedback from them about the services available at the facility.

While interacting with the public on the occasion, Minister Sakeena assured them that under Omar Abdullah led Government, major upgradations will be done in the healthcare infrastructure of Jammu and Kashmir soon. She further assured them that significant upgrades like establishment of an oxygen plant,  blood bank and dialysis facilities, will be done at SDH Kokernag in coming months to improve medical services and ensure accessibility of better healthcare facilities to local population within their vicinities.

While visiting PHC Larnoo, PHC Gadole and PHC Wandevelgam, Minister Sakeena minutely evaluated the healthcare facilities at these locations. She interacted with local health workers and discussed strategies with them and accompanying officers to improve healthcare accessibility and quality in these areas.

Later, the Minister also inspected the Government Degree College (GDC)  Larnoo and took comprehensive assessment of  college’s infrastructure, faculty strength as well as status of educational facilities available for students. She took detailed round of the college campus and also interacted with faculty as well as students and took feedback form them about the quality education  being imparted at the college.

During this extensive tour, Minister Sakeena also interacted with public delegations and individuals at various locations.

While interacting with them, She reiterated the government’s commitment towards strengthening of healthcare and educational infrastructure across Jammu and Kashmir. “Accessibility to quality  healthcare services and quality education for our people is prime motto of Omar Abdullah led Government”, Sakeena stated.

The Minister assured the public that their concerns raised during this tour would be addressed promptly to ensure the better welfare, well-being and progress of the people across Kokernag constituency.

ANANTNAG, APRIL 24: Minister for Transport, Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Satish Sharma, Member of Parliament, Mian Altaf Ahmad along with MLA Anantnag West, Abdul Majeed Bhat today visited the Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag to meet the injured of the tragic Pahalgam terror attack.

The visit was aimed to assess the medical condition of the injured, inspect the healthcare facilities and take stock of the treatment being offered to the attack victims there.


The Minister and the MP were briefed extensively on the immediate emergency response carried out after the incident, the current health status of the injured and the logistical and clinical support being extended to the victims and their families.

They interacted with the injured and their families, assuring them of complete support from the administration. They expressed deep concern over the traumatic episode and conveyed heartfelt wishes for the victims' speedy recovery.

They praised the medical teams for their rapid and effective response, expressing hope that they will continue their yeoman service with the same zeal and spirit.

ANANTNAG, MARCH 16: In a recent crackdown, acting on specific intelligence input, the enforcement team South Kashmir laid a special Naka on intervening night of 14th & 15th March 2025 and intercepted 02 vehicles carrying battery scrap and imposed penalties to the tune of Rs 6.31 Lakh under the Goods and Services Tax (GST) regime on taxpayers involved in the trading and transportation of battery scrap without proper GST documentation and compliance.

The GST authorities have noted an increasing trend of battery scrap transactions being conducted without proper invoicing, registration, or the payment of applicable taxes. Under GST law, any supply of goods, including battery scrap, must be accurately documented, taxed, and reported. Failing to comply with these obligations not only breaches GST regulations but also creates significant risks for the environment and public health.

Businesses engaged in the sale, purchase, and recycling of battery scrap are reminded that they must be properly registered under GST and comply with all tax reporting requirements. These measures aim to ensure transparency, accountability, healthy competition among taxpayers and also the proper management of hazardous materials in line with environmental and health regulations.

The department urges all traders, recyclers, and transporters of battery scrap to review their GST compliance status and rectify any discrepancies. Failing to do so may result in further penalties and a review of their operations.

 ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 25: In a major enforcement action, the team from Enforcement South Kashmir of State Tax Department has realized a huge penalty of Rs 11,18,068 from a tax payer carrying rigid tubes, pipes, hoses, and  fittings made of propylene polymers in violation of GST regulations.

Acting on specific intelligence input, the enforcement team laid a special Naka and intercepted a vehicle in violation of GST norms  by passing  fake Input Tax Credit (ITC) without actual movement of goods in which 03 taxpayers were involved.

During investigation it was found that a Delhi based firm generated 02 e-invoices and E-Way bills worth Rs 73,29,554 in favour of two taxpayers but was carrying goods of Rs 36,64,777 only.

The enforcement drive was carried out by team of STOs, Inspectors, Sub-Inspectors and guards led by Anil Kumar Chandail, Deputy Commissioner, Enforcement South Kashmir under the  guidance of  P.K. Bhat Commissioner, State Taxes, J&K and Pervaiz A Raina Addl Commissioner State Taxes, Kashmir.

Commissioner and Addl Commissioner appreciated the efforts of Team South Kashmir for efficiently handling big cases which will help in tax compliance and in  neutralising the nexus of tax evaders using fake ITC.

They emphasized the department's commitment in fostering a culture of accountability and strict compliance of GST laws & rules.

GMC Anantnag becomes first among newly established GMCs to get its dedicated Cath Lab

ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 20: Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, inaugurated Catheterization Laboratory (Cath-Lab) and newly constructed Block-A of Mirza Mohammad Afzal Beigh Memorial (MMABM) Associated Hospital, GMC Anantnag, here today.

MLAs of district Anantnag including Abdul Majeed Bhat; Peerzada Mohammad Syeed; Reyaz Ahmad Khan; Altaf Ahmad Wani and Zafar Ali Khatana besides Principal GMC Anantnag, Professor Dr Rukhsana Najeeb; Director Coordination New Medical Colleges; Director Family Welfare, MCH and Immunisation; CMO Anantnag; Medical Superintendent MMABM Associated Hospital; Heads of various departments of GMC Anantnag; officers from health and medical education and other concerned departments were also present on the occasion.

While dedicating the Cath-Lab and Block A of GMC Anantnag to the public, the Minister remarked that this significant development marks a new era in the healthcare services across South Kashmir, as GMC Anantnag becomes first among newly established Medical Colleges to get its dedicated Cath-Lab. “With inauguration of Cath-Lab, people of South Kashmir will get the best possible medical care services close to their doorsteps, especially in terms of cardiac care”, she stated.


The Minister highlighted that Omar Abdullah led government is committed to provide world class healthcare facilities to the public near their doorsteps. “Present Government is determined to establish world class medical infrastructure in J&K besides removing certain shortcomings in the health sector”, Sakeena maintained.

The Minister added that healthcare must be the first priority for all, adding that doctors and other healthcare workers must uphold the trust of people. She acknowledged that there is shortage of manpower, assuring that these shortcomings will be addressed soon.

The Minister also appreciated the administration and staff of GMC Anantnag and its associated hospital for providing best healthcare services to people of South Kashmir.

On the occasion, Principal and Dean of GMC Anantnag, Dr. Rukhsana Najeeb, highlighted the work done and achievements of GMC Anantnag. She expressed gratitude to the Health Minister for providing remarkable support to GMC Anantnag for upgradation of manpower and infrastructure. She also congratulated the people of South Kashmir for getting the best medical care close to their doorsteps.

Pertinently, with the inauguration of Cath-Lab, people of South Kashmir as well as Pir Panjal region will have a sigh of relief as they will get the best cardiac healthcare services in their vicinity.

Later, the Minister also felicitated Dr. Syed Maqbool, Dr. Shamim Iqbal and Dr. Showkat Hussain Shah, Cardiologists of GMC Anantnag for their excellent work and commitment in cardiac care.

Anantnag, January 05:  The Motor Vehicles Department (MVD), in collaboration with the Health Department of Anantnag, organized a Medical and Eye Checkup Camp for drivers at the Sumo Stand in Bijbehara. The event, conducted under the aegis of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways, was part of the ongoing Road Safety Month 2025 campaign.

The primary objective of the camp was to ensure the physical fitness of drivers, with a special focus on eye health. 

A team of experienced medical professionals and paramedics provided free eye checkups and basic health diagnostics to drivers, ensuring they are fit to operate vehicles safely.

This initiative is part of the government's broader efforts to enhance road safety awareness and reduce the incidence of road accidents. With a growing focus on improving driver health, the camp aimed to educate drivers on the importance of maintaining good physical health, particularly vision, to prevent accidents caused by impaired judgment or reaction times.

The medical team also offered advice on maintaining general well-being, emphasizing the role of healthy practices in reducing accidents and fostering a safer driving environment.

Local drivers expressed their gratitude for the initiative, with many hailing the camp as a positive step toward improving road safety. Several drivers voiced their support for holding such camps regularly in the future to help maintain their health and ensure safer roads.

The ARTO Anantnag, Dr. Showket reiterated their commitment to organizing more such camps, contributing to a broader campaign aimed at bringing about a significant change in road safety practices and reducing traffic-related accidents in the region.

Govt committed to develop J&K’s own syncretic Culture: Union MoS

ANANTNAG, JULY 14: Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Nityanand Rai, today threw open the ancient temple dedicated to Goddess Uma Bhagwati for the devotees at Brariangan in Shangus Tehsil, Anantnag.

The temple has been reopened after a gap of nearly 34 years.

The Union Minister was accompanied by Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag, Dr G V Sundeep Chakravarthy, officers from the district administration and office bearers of Uma Bhagwati Asthapan Trust.

During the re-opening ceremony, the idol of goddess Uma, brought from Rajasthan was placed in the sanctum sanctorum.

The Union Minister, while addressing the gathering of devotees, expressed confidence that a large number of devotees shall visit the temple on its re-opening. He said that the government’s commitment towards a developed J&K and the UTs own syncretic  culture shall go a long way to develop J&K into a prosperous and peaceful region. 

Notably, Uma Bhagwati temple at Brariangan is an ancient shrine where devotees used to come in large numbers from different parts of the J&K to pay obeisance to the  Goddess. The temple is situated amidst five springs including “Brahma  Kund, Vishnu Kund, Rudhra Kund and Shiv Shakti Kund”.

ANANTNAG, JUNE 26: Lieutenant Governor Shri Manoj Sinha today visited Chandanwari Base camp and inspected the arrangements made for the pilgrims of holy Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra.

The Lt Governor interacted with the officers and service providers and took stock of the security arrangements and facilities including food & lodging, healthcare, connectivity, sanitation, power & water supply and other amenities at the camp and enroute.

The Lt Governor is closely monitoring the yatra arrangements and taking first-hand appraisal of the preparedness of the Administration, Shrine Board, Police & Security forces and various stakeholders ahead of the annual yatra of Shri Amarnath Ji.

The Lt Governor was accompanied by Dr Mandeep Kumar Bhandari, CEO, Shri Amarnath Ji Shrine Board; Sh Vijay Kumar Bidhuri, Divisional Commissioner Kashmir; Sh Syeed Fakhrudin Hamid, Deputy Commissioner Anantnag and other senior officers of District Administration, SASB, Police and Security Forces.

ANANTNAG, MARCH 19: The District Election Officer (DEO) Anantnag, SF. Hamid today convened meetings with representatives from various political parties and members of the media.

The meeting was attended by the Senior Superintendent of Police Anantnag, ADC Anantnag, Deputy DEO and DIO.

The primary objective of these meetings was to provide training and guidance to stakeholders on the principles outlined in the Model Code of Conduct (MCC).

The DEO emphasized the paramount importance of strict adherence to the MCC by all individuals involved in the electoral process. Political parties were urged to demonstrate unwavering commitment to ethical campaigning practices, avoiding any actions that could potentially compromise the integrity of the electoral system.

Recognizing the pivotal role of the media in ensuring free and fair elections, SF. Hamid said that fair and unbiased reporting, free from partisan influence is essential to preventing the menace of fake news and also in ensuring accurate information reaches the electorate.

He also announced the establishment of the Media Centre and the Media Certification and Monitoring Committees in Anantnag.

Notably, the Anantnag parliamentary constituency seat shall go for polls on 07th May in the third phase of the upcoming General Elections.

ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 26: KVK-Anantnag, SKUAST-Kashmir Monday hosted the valedictory function for two skill programs sanctioned under MSME and STRY, marking a significant milestone in empowering individuals with knowledge and expertise.

The training session on awareness and popularization of Area Specific Mineral Mixture among the livestock owners of District Anantnag an e-MDP sanctioned under MSME, GOI is aimed at enhancing livestock productivity and welfare.

Additionally, the (6+1) Skill Training of Rural Youth (STRY) training programme on Entrepreneurial Opportunities in Value Addition of Horticulture crops was conducted focused on fostering entrepreneurship and value addition in horticulture crops.

Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Pampori, chief guest on the occasion, delivered an enlightening lecture on Management of Livestock during heat and cold stress. His insightful discourse emphasized the importance of precision livestock farming for sustainable livestock health and productivity.

Dr. Ishtiyaq A. Khan, Head, KVK-Anantnag emphasized the importance of such training initiatives in enhancing and strengthening the district’s skilled manpower.

He reiterated KVK-Anantnag’s commitment to uplifting the socio-economic conditions of resource-poor farmers by nurturing an entrepreneurial spirit through knowledge and skill empowerment.

The programmes, spanning over seven days, feature a diverse range of activities including lectures by experts, practical handouts and exposure visits. This concerted effort by KVK-Anantnag signifies a pivotal step towards fostering sustainable development and prosperity in rural communities.

Emphasizes time bound redressal of public issues, concerns

ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 23: In a continued effort towards addressing public issues and grievances at the grassroots level, Commissioner Secretary, Science & Technology Saurabh Bhagat, today convened a grievances redressal camp here at Achabal.

The Commissioner Secretary emphasized the pivotal role of such public outreach programs in bridging gap between the administration and the citizens. He highlighted the significance of senior government officials engaging directly with the people to assess and address their issues and concerns. He emphasized upon the officers to ensure time bound redressal of all public issues and concerns. He emphasized on cent percent implementation of Centrally Sponsored Schemes on ground with visible impact for overall development and welfare of the people. He also stressed on saturation of Social Security Schemes by covering all left out beneficiaries.  .

Saurabh Bhagat along with district officers actively engaged with the attendees to understand their needs and challenges as well.

Heads of various government departments including Revenue, Police, Power, Health, Education, Public Works, Agriculture and allied departments, were present to address sector specific concerns of the people present during the public darbar.

The Commissioner Secretary after listening to grievances and demands of the public, sought on the spot response from the concerned district officers present in the grievance redressal camp. He assured the public that all genuine demands and issues projected by them will be looked into on priority for redressal.

The Commissioner Secretary commended the youth of Anantnag district for increasingly venturing into entrepreneurship. He noted that entrepreneurship has the potential to serve as an untapped source of economic growth, with entrepreneurs evolving into job providers rather than job seekers. He   emphasized the vast opportunities available in other sectors such as sheep farming, dairy farming, and trout fish farming saying that the district’s favorable geographical location makes it conducive for diversifying into these areas.

He urged upon the unemployed youth to take advantage of various government schemes and explore opportunities in these sectors  making their contribution towards generation of dignified employment avenues, fostering economic growth in the district, he asserted. He emphasized the need for the community to be aware of the government initiatives, ensuring sustainable development and prosperity of the district.

Deputy Commissioner Anantnag, S F Hamid, said that the decisions taken during previous public grievance redressal camp with regard to redressal of public issues and demands are being implemented in letter and spirit for the public good. He added that timely redressal of public grievances and their quality disposal in a time bound manner is among top priorities of the present administration.

National Road Safety Month 2024: Multiple Events Held in Anantnag

ANANTNAG, FEBRUARY 10: The Motor Vehicle Department (MVD) Anantnag in collaboration with the Health and Medical department and Traffic Department Rural, Anantnag  today organised a Medical and Health Check up camp at  Sumo Stand Kokernag to celebrate 34th  National Road Safety Month-2024.

Speaking on the occasion, DySP Traffic Mohammad Idrees said that apart from free medical check up to the drivers the aim of the programme was to sensitise the driver community about safe and disciplined driving.

The officials from the Health and Medical department conducted an eye check up of the commercial vehicle drivers.

The MVD officials and Traffic Department also spread road safety awareness among the general commuters by felicitating them with Certificates of appreciation and Red Roses for traffic violators.

Later,  a grievance camp was also organised in which a large number of transporters from various  subdivision and civil society members  apprised the MVD officials about  their grievances. Demands like  plying of transport till late night and desist from charging extra fare and overloading of passengers were kept before the officials. The officials ensured speedy redressal of these grievances.

ANANTNAG, JANUARY 23: Commissioner Secretary, Tourism, Yasha Mudgal, today joined the “Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra” in the historic chinar town of Bijbehara, Anantnag. 

As part of ongoing yatra, Yasha Mudgal engaged with local residents, evaluating the progress on various Centrally Sponsored Schemes being implemented in the area. She sought feedback from them regarding the impact of these initiatives on their lives besides asking about their development needs and aspirarions.

Commissioner Secretary emphasized Prime Minister, Narendra Modi’s, vision behind Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, which focusses on widespread awareness, reaching the unreached, facilitating utilization of government welfare schemes, and saturation of schemes. The yatra has played a pivotal role in fostering development, promoting engagement with government schemes, and achieving saturation under citizen-centric programs. she added.

Under the initiative, IEC mobile van created awareness among the people about central government schemes and screened videos of Prime Minister’s addresses, testimonials from beneficiaries and informative clips and a special message from Prime Minister, in which he encouraged people to pledge to work for progress and prosperity of the country.

Mohammad Amin Mir, Mohammad Nawab Faridi and Punkaj Mandal’s stories are the shining examples of street vendors in Mattan. From starting their businesses with minimal resources, these entrepreneurs flourished with financial aid under PM SVANidhi. Their success stories echo the experiences of millions across India, illustrating the Yatra’s unwavering commitment to inclusive development.

Kaisar Ahmad Bhat’s story from Qazigund is heart-touching. Facing the brink of closure during the harsh times of COVID-19, the PM SVANidhi Scheme became his lifeline. With successive tranches totaling Rs. 80,000, Kaisar not only revived his fruit-selling Rehri but stands today as a successful street vendor, a testament to the scheme’s transformative power.

In Seer-Hamdan, Mushtaq Ahmad Ganie, Bikram Mandal, and Kadar epitomize the success spurred by PM SVANidhi. Starting from scratch, they expanded their businesses with financial assistance, leading to increased income and a better lifestyle. Mohammad Ayoub Bhat, a graduate from Kokernag, faced challenges accessing credit for his business. PM SVANidhi changed the game, providing a loan that fueled business growth and enhanced income. In Dooru Verinag, Mohammad Ashraf Mochi’s fruit and vegetable vending unit faced setbacks during COVID-19. ANANTNAG DECEMBER 26: Commissioner Secretary Cooperatives, Yasha Mudgal, today presided over a mega Public Darbar at Polytechnic College, Larkipora Anantnag and took stock of issues and demands of people of the district.

The event was attended by all sectoral heads and senior officers of district administration.

Chairman District Development Council, Anantnag, Vice Chairman, other PRI representatives and various delegations were also part of the mega public outreach programme.

The public darbar witnessed overwhelming response from the public during which people apprised Yasha Mudgal of their developmental issues and demands by seeking his intervention in redressing the same.

All the officers delivered speeches on the schemes operational in the district.

The delegations expressed satisfaction over the outreach programme saying that this provides them an opportunity to voice their grievances and demands for resolution.

Commissioner Secretary issued on spot directions to the concerned officers to look into all the issues projected by the delegations and the individuals and initiate action for early redressal of the same.

People mainly approached him with civic problems pertaining to some roads, intermittent water supply, better provision of health facilities in villages, and augmentation of infrastructure in public health institutions.

A delegation of youth raised the issue of establishment of playground in the area, to which instant instructions were given to the concerned officers.

Yasha Mudgal directed the concerned officers to popularise the initiatives and schemes of the government so that more and more people get benefitted.

Commissioner Secretary assured all individuals and delegations that the issues and genuine demands projected by them would be redressed on merit basis. She gave on-the-spot directions to the concerned for time-bound redress of public issues raised during the Darbar.

Commissioner Secretary also gave directions to the concerned officers to personally visit the places and find solutions to the problems of the public. A highlight of interaction was the positivity as many delegations thanked the Government for resolving several issues in recent years.

ANANTNAG, DECEMBER 23: Chief Justice of High Court of J&K and Ladakh, Justice N. Kotiswar Singh, today inaugurated new Court building  of Civil Judge Junior Division (JMIC) at Pahalgam.

Present on the occasion were Administrative  Judge for District  Anantnag, Justice V.C.Koul and other Judges of High Court including Justice  Sanjeev Shukla, Justice  Sindhu Sharma, Justice  Sanjay Dhar and Justice  M.Akram  Choudhary besides officers from High Court Registry comprising Registrar General Shazad Azeem, Principal Secretary to Chief Justice, M.K.Sharma, Registrar Judicial Farooq Ahmed Bhat, Registrar e courts, Anoop Sharma and Registrar Protocol Abdul Bari, Judicial Officers from District Anantnag comprising Principal  District  and Sessions Judge, Jaffar Hussain Beigh, Chief Judicial  Magistrate Faizan Iqbal, Secretary  DLSA Tabassum Qadir, Sub Judge Bijbehara Muzammil Wani, Munsiff Aishmuqam/Pahalgam, Fidah Hussain Nayek and District Mobile Magistrate Traffic, M.Ishtiaq Alam Baba.

The ceremony was also attended by District Development  Commissioner, Anantnag, Syed Fakhrudin  Hamid, SP (JIC), Furqaan, officers from Prosecution wing Anantnag, Health and R&B.

The inaugural function was also attended by Executive members of Bar Association Anantnag and bar members of Bar Association Tehsil Pahalgam.

The inaugurated Court Complex has been constructed by PWD (R &B) Division  Pahalgam  with a project cost of  Rs 614.04 lakh. With this new complex, the picturesque town of Pahalgam will have a regular Court which besides catering to traditional litigation will also help out the tourists who come here including the Amarnath Yatries.
