Anantnag: In a landmark development for regional logistics, the first-ever Food Corporation of India (FCI) food-grain freight train successfully reached the Anantnag Goods Terminal in the Kashmir Valley on Sunday. The arrival marks a historic milestone, officially integrating the valley with India's national freight network for the direct transport of essential food supplies.
This new rail link is poised to significantly enhance the efficiency and reliability of food grain distribution throughout the region. By enabling bulk transportation via the railway system, it ensures a more stable supply chain for the Kashmir Valley.

The event was widely reported as a major achievement in improving the infrastructure and connectivity for Jammu and Kashmir. The train was flagged off from Jammu before completing its journey to the Anantnag terminal.
