UDHAMPUR, DECEMBER 22: Member Legislative Assembly Udhampur East, Ranbir Singh Pathania today flagged off a group of 77 farmers from Sub Division Udhampur on a one day exposure visit to Sher-e-Kashmir University of Agriculture Sciences and Technology (SKUAST-JAMMU). The visit was organised under the “Promotion of Oil Seed” project of HADP as part of the ongoing good governance week.
During the tour, the farmers will learn about modern innovations and technical interventions in the field of Agriculture with emphasis on increasing Oil seed production in the District.
The MLA encouraged the farmers to take full advantage of the exposure visit by learning best practices and disseminating the acquired knowledge among fellow farmers in their areas.
The farmers will learn new practices by seeing demonstrations of farm experiments, plant varieties and trials being conducted by SKUAST in Oil seed Crop cultivation, Floriculture, Cereals and Vegetables, etc.
The farmers will also interact with SKUAST Scientists, Extension staff to have exposure to the latest crops technologies. They will also gain knowledge about cultivation, production and extraction of oil from Oil Seed Crop.
The exposure tour was conducted under the guidance of Director Agriculture Jammu, Anil Gupta. Chief Agriculture Officer, Harbans Singh and SDAO Udhampur, Ajay Sharma were also present during the occasion.
