Kathua Achieves Over 100% IPPI 2025 Coverage, Ensuring Every Child Protected

KATHUA, DECEMBER 23: District Kathua has marked a significant milestone under the Intensified Pulse Polio Immunisation (IPPI) 2025 campaign, reporting a remarkable 100.30 per cent achievement. The drive successfully completed 100 per cent house-to-house coverage on Day-3 (HTH Day) of the campaign, ensuring no child was left unprotected.

According to official figures, a total of 92,518 children received vaccinations over the three-day initiative. On Day-1 (December 21), 80,206 children were vaccinated, followed by 8,231 children on Day-2 (December 22), and an additional 4,081 children on Day-3 (December 23).

The campaign also demonstrated effective planning and optimal resource utilization, with 4,597 vials used on Day-1, 498 vials on Day-2, and 234 vials on Day-3.

Deputy Commissioner Kathua, Rajesh Sharma, lauded the achievement, stating, "The successful achievement of 100.30 per cent coverage under IPPI 2025 reflects strong inter-departmental coordination and the dedicated efforts of health teams and frontline workers." He further emphasized that "complete house-to-house coverage has ensured that no child was left unprotected," extending his congratulations to all teams involved for their commendable work.

Chief Medical Officer Dr. Vijay Raina echoed these sentiments, highlighting that the "100.30 per cent coverage with complete house-to-house vaccination reflects the dedication, discipline and tireless efforts of the entire health workforce." Dr. Raina particularly appreciated the commitment of medical officers, frontline workers, supervisors, and all supporting staff who "worked tirelessly under the leadership of Dr. Neeraj Nagpal, Deputy CMO Kathua, to ensure that no child in the District remains unvaccinated."
