DC emphasises timely bank linkage of approved cases

KATHUA, DECEMBER 22: The District Level Task Force Committee (DLTFC) under Jammu and Kashmir Rural Employment Generation Programme (JKREGP) was today convened under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Rajesh Sharma here at Conference Hall of the DC Office Complex.

The meeting was held to reflect on and facilitate self-employment and income generation opportunities for unemployed youth of the district under JKREGP. The scheme is being implemented by the J&K Khadi and Village Industries Board (KVIB).

A total of 38 cases were placed before the Committee, of which, the Committee approved 22 applications after detailed scrutiny and interaction with the applicants. The approved cases were recommended for sponsorship to banks for further necessary action. 14 applicants were absent while two cases were rejected.

The Deputy Commissioner stressed the need for effective coordination among line departments and banking institutions to ensure timely credit linkage and successful implementation of the programme.

Among others, the meeting was attended by GMC DIC Mushtaq Chaudhary; Lead District Manager SBI; Director SBI RSETI; representatives from J&K Bank, J&K Grameen Bank and Government ITI Kathua.

The proceedings were convened by District Officer J&K KVIB Surinder Paul Sharma, who also serves as Convener of the DLTFC.
