BARAMULLA, APRIL 10: The Department of Youth Services and Sports (DYSS) District Baramulla successfully kickstarted the much-awaited Inter-School Competitions with the Inter-School Zonal Level Chess Competition for Under-14 and Under-17 Boys.

The competition is being organized by the office of Zonal Physical Education Officer Sopore at Subhana Stadium, Sopore.

A total of 50 student participants representing 20 educational institutions from the Sopore zone locked minds in intense chess matches, demonstrating both skill and sportsmanship. The event served as a platform to promote analytical thinking, patience, and sports culture among school children.

DYSSO Baramulla expressed immense satisfaction with the enthusiastic response and reiterated the department’s commitment to ensuring holistic development of youth through such competitive and character-building platforms.

He said the department aims to conduct a series of inter-school competitions in the coming weeks, embracing a variety of sports disciplines that align with the physical and mental well-being of students.
