Reviews preparedness for disasters and sectoral plans of various departments

GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 07: A meeting of the District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Ganderbal was today held under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, who also serves as the Chairman of DDMA Ganderbal.

The meeting focused specifically on enhancing preparedness for critical natural disasters viz. floods, landslides, snow storms and fire and other emergencies.

The DC took a detailed review of the District Disaster Management Plan as well as reviewed the level of preparedness of various departments like Health, PWD, PHE, I&FC, PDD, Police, SDRF among others.

The DC directed concerned officers to ensure timely response on disaster situations, keep their plans updated and ensure readiness at all times. DC also directed the concerned officers to ensure proper mapping of the available machinery, equipment and other resources so that they can be used properly during disasters.

The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Additional SP Ganderbal, Superintending Engineer PW (R&B), Executive Engineer I&FC, Executive Engineer JalShakti, Executive Engineer KPDCL, Chief Medical Officer, Executive Officer M.C Ganderbal besides representatives from various departments.
