SAMBA, NOVEMBER 14: The District Administration Samba today organised the Culmination Event of Phase–I of the 150th anniversary celebration of National Song “Vande Mataram” here in the Conference Hall, District Administrative Complex, Nandani Hills.
The event was graced by Deputy Commissioner, Ayushi Sudan along with Additional District Development Commissioner, Champa Devi Thakur.
The programme commenced with the screening of a short documentary, highlighting the 150-year journey of Vande Mataram, its historical significance and its role in India’s freedom movement. A video presentation followed, showcasing the week-long activities organised in the district as part of the celebrations.
Mass singing of Vande Mataram, cultural presentation on patriotic themes by artists from the Saraswati group and a Nukkad Natak by local artists, depicting the evolution and importance of Vande Mataram during the freedom struggle enthralled the audience.
The Deputy Commissioner appreciated the active participation of students, officials and cultural groups in the series of events organised as part of the celebration.
Assistant Commissioner Revenue, Ajay Bharti; GM DIC, Gurpreet Singh, district officers and heads of departments were also present.
Later, the Chief Guest felicitated the students who performed exceptionally in the week-long activities.
