Raja Ghulam Nabi Wani engages with athletes, motivating them to strive for excellence at Gindum Stadium, Srinagar.

Srinagar June 5th, 2025:  The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory is set to showcase its promising athletic prowess with the selection of 20 exceptional young players—10 boys and 10 girls—who will represent the region at the prestigious 20th Junior National Soft Amateur Tennis Championship. Scheduled for June 26th to June 30th, 2025, in Panchkula, Haryana, this tournament serves as a vital platform for the development of junior athletes nationwide.

The selection process, executed today at Gindum Stadium in Srinagar, was overseen by Raja Ghulam Nabi Wani, Chairman of the J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association. The athletes were chosen through a rigorous merit-based evaluation, meticulously monitored by the J&K Sports Council to ensure transparency and integrity in the proceedings.

In his address to the newly selected athletes, Chairman Wani expressed his profound admiration for their accomplishments. "It is truly inspiring to witness such remarkable talent emerging from Jammu and Kashmir. These young athletes have exhibited exceptional skill and unwavering dedication, and I am fully confident that they will represent our Union Territory with distinction, achieving commendable success on the national stage."

Wani highlighted the J&K Amateur Soft Tennis Association's commitment to grassroots development, asserting that nurturing young talent is vital for fostering a culture of discipline, resilience, and sportsmanship. He extended special appreciation to the J&K Sports Council for its consistent support in enhancing sports infrastructure, enabling such selection processes to thrive.

"This championship is not only an opportunity to compete but also a chance for our players to gain invaluable experience against some of the best in the country," Wani stated. He conveyed his best wishes to all the participants, encouraging them to strive for excellence and elevate their performance.

The selected teams will engage in a comprehensive training camp prior to their departure for Panchkula, ensuring they are well-prepared for the challenges that lie ahead. The entire sporting community of Jammu and Kashmir looks forward to their performances and offers its unwavering support in this important journey.
