 SAMBA, JANUARY 23: District Administration Samba, under the week long Republic Day 2023 Celebrations, today organised a multitude of events in the district Samba.

The celebrations will be a tribute to INA veterans, people and tribal communities, who participated in the freedom movement as a part of Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.

The inaugural function was organized in the Government Gujjar and Bakarwal Boys hostel Samba, which saw huge participation of students from the tribal community. A scintillating cultural program featuring patriotic songs depicting National fervor was presented on the occasion.

Chief Guest, Deputy Commissioner, Anuradha Gupta called upon the students and others to take part in the ongoing Republic Day celebrations as Jan Bagidari and promote the ideals of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav. She also exhorted students to inculcate hobbies like singing, dancing, writing, reading as well as excelling in sports to channelize the energies in the right direction for the development of our Nation.

In another event at Vijaypur specially abled children and old age inmates of Old Age Home 'Aashriya' presented a dance performance and a folk song as a part of Republic Day Celebrations. The celebration included dance, solo song singing by students of Udaan School for specially abled children. The Chief Guest appreciated the management of Muskan Foundation and applauded the children for their exuberant performances.

 The Deputy Commissioner also during a visit to Aashriya inspected the functioning of senior citizen homes and enquired about the facilities available in the home.

The school education department Samba organised  a special lecture on the topic "Fundamental Rights" in HSS Birpur, besides a variety of cultural programs featuring patriotic songs, folk dance and music are also being organised during the week long republic day celebrations.

Among others District Social Welfare Officer, Depp Kumar, District information officer Ajay Sharma, Chief Education Officer Jaswant Singh, Parveen Sangral Muskan Foundation, besides others were also present in the events.
