Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, Vice President of the Shiromani Akali Dal, speaks to media representatives in Chohla Sahib.

Chohla Sahib, Punjab – Ravinder Singh Brahmpura, Vice President of the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), former MLA, and in-charge of the Khadoor Sahib constituency, launched a scathing attack on the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) today, calling the upcoming Ludhiana West by-election a decisive moment in Punjab’s political landscape.

Speaking to media representatives, Brahmpura said, “The presence of Delhi’s AAP leadership in Ludhiana is not a demonstration of strength but a desperate attempt to salvage their shrinking support base. The people of Punjab can see through this panic.”

He claimed that disillusionment with AAP is growing across the state. “Even former critics of SAD now acknowledge that only our party can restore law, order, and communal harmony. Punjab needs experienced leadership now more than ever.”

"AAP Has Betrayed Punjab"

Brahmpura criticized the AAP government for what he described as systemic failures and betrayal of public trust. “They sold Rajya Sabha seats to outsiders for personal gain, neglected the rising drug crisis, and created an atmosphere of fear that has left traders and ordinary citizens feeling unsafe,” he alleged.

He further asserted that Ludhiana, Punjab’s industrial hub, mirrors the frustrations of its people. “The city’s rejection of AAP will be a resounding message — a vote against deceit, misgovernance, and false promises.”

SAD’s Promise: Stability and Progress

Looking ahead, Brahmpura expressed confidence in the resurgence of SAD. “Punjab is ready for change — not the destructive change promised by AAP, but a return to peace, development, and dignity. The Ludhiana by-election will mark the beginning of this transformation.”

Prominent personalities present during the interaction included Former Sarpanch Amrik Singh, Social Worker Dilbar Singh, Avtar Singh Raymond, Harbans Singh Fauji, Dr. Jatinder Singh, Gurdev Singh, Balbir Singh Balli, and Kurinder Singh.

Shekhawat, Jugal, Rana address election rally

Dinanagar PUNJAB MAY 17-Union Minister Gajendra Singh Shekhawat today lashed out at the INDI Alliance, particularly the Congress, for dividing the country to further its divisive political agenda, saying all their machinations will fail as they stand exposed before the people of India.

Addressing an election rally at Dinanagar, along with senior BJP leaders Mr Jugal Kishore and Mr Devender Singh Rana, in support of the party candidate Mr Dinesh Singh Babbu from Gurdaspur Parliamentary Constituency, Mr Shekhawat exuded confidence that the BJP led National Democratic Alliance will cross the 400 mark in the ongoing general elections.

Mr Shekhawat said the country has achieved enviable milestones in every sphere, be it development, infrastructural upgradation, economic resurgence, growth and stability under the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi during the past one decade. These have been the years of achievement and placing India on the global landscape as an inspiring nation that has made significant headway in facing the challenges and is set to become the third largest economy in the next five years, he added.

Speaking on the occasion, Member Parliament Mr Jugal Kishore Sharma referred to the BJP’s commitment of upholding the principles of inclusivity and good governance, saying this will lead to India becoming Vishwa Guru.

Mr Sharma expressed confidence that the third term of Prime Minister Narendra Modi will make the compatriots proud of being the third economy in the next five years and Viksit Bharat by 2047. The world is watching India’s growth story under Modiji with interest and attention, he maintained.  

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Devender Rana said that with a track record of transformative, inclusive, transparent and accountable governance and commitment to progress of the country, the BJP is all set to gain once again the trust of the people on June 4.

“The BJP’s vision for a strong, prosperous, and inclusive Bharat resonates deeply with the aspirations of millions of Indians across the country”, Mr Rana said, adding that from vibrant global reputation and robust economic reforms to decisive actions on national security, the BJP’s agenda reflects its unflinching commitment to serve every segment of Indian society as per cherished agenda of Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas, Sabka Vishwas, Sabka Prayas. This mantra has already galvanized the people, with whose blessings, the nation has ushered in a new age of peace, progress and prosperity for the nation, he added.

Mr Devender Rana said  that the BJP has been tirelessly working for the welfare of every citizen, irrespective of religion, caste, creed or region and is committed to upholding the values of unity and diversity that forms the bedrock of the unique identity of the nation. This has earned the party immense public goodwill that will surely manifest in achieving the target of 400 plus by the National Democratic Alliance. Surely the BJP is going to touch the 370 mark on its own, he asserted.

LUDHIANA: The literary world of Punjab is mourning the loss of one of its most cherished voices, Padma Shri Surjit Patar. The renowned poet and writer passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday morning at his residence in Ludhiana. He was 79 years old.

A Mark on Punjabi Literature

Surjit Patar’s illustrious career spanned decades, leaving an indelible mark on Punjabi literature. His poems, known for their poignant beauty and profound exploration of human emotions, resonated deeply with readers. Works like “Hawa Vich Likhe Harf” (Words Written in the Air), “Hanere Vich Sulagdi Varanmala” (Garland Burning in the Darkness), and “Patjhar Di Pazeb” (Anklet of Autumn) are just a few examples of his captivating collections.

Beyond Poetry: A Multifaceted Talent

Patar’s influence extended beyond poetry. He was a respected writer and served as the President of the Punjab Arts Council. His dedication to promoting Punjabi language and literature earned him the prestigious Padma Shri award in 2012. The news of Patar’s passing has been met with an outpouring of grief from admirers, fellow writers, and political figures alike. Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann described him as a “proud son of the Punjabi language” and expressed his condolences for the significant loss.
