JAMMU: As part of a major public outreach initiative, Congress Working President Shri Raman Bhalla recently held an important meeting with representatives from the OBC, SC, and ST communities of the Jammu region. The purpose of the meeting was to understand the long-standing issues faced by these marginalized communities and to initiate concrete steps toward their resolution.

During the discussion, Bhalla ji attentively listened to the concerns raised by the delegates, which primarily included the lack of political representation and the loss of traditional livelihoods. Responding to their grievances, Bhalla ji assured them that the Congress party stands firmly with every oppressed and underrepresented section and will fight with full strength for their rights, dignity, and justice.

He reiterated the Congress Party’s national demand for a caste-based census, stating that true representation, participation, and equality cannot be achieved without first understanding the actual social structure. “Unless every community is counted correctly, they cannot claim their rightful share,” he stated.

Bhalla ji emphasized that the hardworking and skilled people of Jammu & Kashmir deserve equal opportunities, recognition, and justice—and the Congress is committed to making that a reality.

Present in the meeting were senior leaders and community representatives including Madan Lal Chalotra, Shamshar Bhagal, Amit Mehra, Dewan Chand, Prem Sagar Tornil, H. L. Chalotra, Ram Lal Sagotra, Mangal Ram, Deep Kumar, Dinesh Kumar, Master Pars Ram, Kundan Lal, and others. They assured Bhalla ji that in the coming days, large numbers of people from the OBC, SC, and ST communities would be joining the Congress Party. It was also proposed that these new joinings be held on a large public platform to send a strong message of inclusion and empowerment.

The leaders also pledged to strengthen the role of senior leader Tariq Hameed Karra in the coming days. The meeting concluded with a unified resolution that the Congress Party will rise together and lead Jammu and Kashmir to a new era of social justice, equality, and democratic participation.
