DC Poonch flags off Swachhata Carvaan

 POONCH, MAY 16: Deputy Commissioner, Yasin M. Choudhary flagged off a Swachhata Carvaan vehicle from DC Office Complex today to promote cleanliness and hygiene among the public.

During the programme, Deputy Commissioner interacted with students and spoke about the need for maintaining cleanliness and hygiene in their surroundings. He highlighted the benefits of a clean and healthy environment and the importance of adopting good sanitation practices. He also administered the Swachhata pledge to students to motivate them to involve themselves in cleanliness activities.

A series of events, including Nukkad Natak, Debate Competition, Drawing competition and cleanliness drive were organised at different locations in the district to engage and involve the community in the initiative.

Swachhata Carvaan is a programme aimed at generating awareness and embarking behavioural changes among rural masses regarding Swachh Bharat Mission (Gramin) and achieving sustained ODF status in rural areas. It was launched on 24 April 2023 from Panchayat Palli, District Samba on the eve of National Panchayati Raj Day by Hon’ble LG.

The event was attended by Additional District Development Commissioner, Malikzada Shera Ul Haq; Additional Deputy Commissioner, Tahir Mustafa Malik; Assistant Commissioner Development, Abid Hussain Shah; Assistant Commissioner Panchayat, Naheem Un Nissa Bhatti; Tehsildar (Hqr), Jahangir Hussain; District Panchayat Officer, Chanderkant Bhagat besides other district officers and school children.
