 JAMMU, JUNE 09:  Department of Chemistry,  in collaboration with IQAC, of Padma Shri Padma Sachdev Government College for Women today organised students’ visit to  IIIM Jammu to participate in the Symposium on Drug Discovery & Skill development on High end Research under One Week One Lab programme.

Dr. Sunil Kumar Dubey, General Manager, Medical Research R&D Healthcare Division Emami limited Kolkata was the chief guest at the inaugural session. He delivered a plenary lecture on Pharmacokinetic Pharmacodynamic Modelling and Simulation of Phytopharmaceuticals. He shared his expertise in designing new drugs.

 Dr. Prasoon Gupta.  Dr. Parminder Pal Singh & Dr. Qazi Naveen Ahmed were also the lead speakers.

    During the visit, the Students were made aware about the designing of new drugs, various aspects of preclinical drug development, the role of CSIR-IIIM Jammu in the drug development  from natural resources.

The students also visited various labs working on isolation,  identification and characterization of Natural products.   

 The visit was conducted smoothly with the support of Dr. Deepika Singh, Principal Scientist & Head Quality, Management & Instrumentation  division CSIR IIIM, Jammu. Dr. Indu khajuria, Dr.Deepika Gupta & Dr. Shally Chadha from Department of Chemistry accompanied the Students.
