 KUPWARA, SEPTEMBER 01: Secretary in Rural Development Department (RDD), Tariq Ahmad Zargar today visited Kupwara district and convened a meeting to review the progress on implementation of different RDD schemes and programmes in the district.

During the meeting, Zargar reviewed progress of MGNREGA, CD-Panchayats, Mission Amritsarovar, SBM-G phase- 2 and other schemes.

While reviewing MGNREGA, he directed concerned officers for ensuring completion of all the ongoing works before the end of fiscal year.

The Secretary also visited Hiri Qadirabad block and inspected cleanliness and other SBM- G initiatives at Hiri- A Panchayat. He also inspected other panchayats of the district which have been declared as ODF Plus and shortlisted for SSG 2023 Award. He later visited Sogam Block qnd inspected Amrit Sarovar at Lalpora. He also interacted with PRI representatives and locals there.

During the interaction, he highlighted that government is committed to development of far flung areas and the PRIs have major role to play. He also assured them all of their genuine issues will be resolved on priority.
