Millions of salutes to the former Prime Minister of India, “Bharat Ratna” Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri on his death anniversary.

Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri was an Indian politician and statesman who served as the Prime Minister of India from 1964 to 1966. He was India's second Prime Minister after Jawaharlal Nehru. Shastri is remembered for his leadership during the India-Pakistan War of 1965, the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971 and for his slogan of “Jai Jawan Jai Kisan” (Hail the soldier, Hail the farmer). Shastri was a man of principles and a believer in non-violent resistance. He fought bravely for India's independence. He was a great leader and a brave soldier who worked tirelessly for the upliftment of the poor and the downtrodden. He was a strong advocate of world peace. Shastri's tenure at the helm of India was marked by many significant events, including the 1964 Indo-Pakistani War, the 1965 India-Pakistan War and the 1966 India-Pakistan War. He is also credited with introducing the "Green Revolution" in India that enabled the country to become self-sufficient in food production. He also initiated the "White Revolution" in India that improved the lives of millions of farmers. Shri Lal Bahadur Shastri was an exemplary leader and a great statesman who worked with dedication for the progress and development of India. He was an inspiration to millions of Indians, who paid tribute to him on his death anniversary. On this day, let us pay homage to this great leader and salute his memory. Jai Hind!
