On the occasion, the department also organised a training programme on First Aid in collaboration with Health Department.

At Srinagar headquarters, the programme was presided over by Director Fire & Emergency Services, J&K, Alok Kumar.

Speaking on the occasion, the Director appreciated the role of doctors for providing First Aid training to the service personnel on the ‘World First Aid Day’ celebrated on 9th September across the globe. He impressed upon the trainees to impart required training to service personnel so that precious lives can be saved by providing first aid to them during fire fighting and rescue operations.

The Medical teams deployed by Health Department both at Srinagar and Jammu imparted trainings to around 700 jawans and officers from all Fire and Emergency Stations of the UT and briefed them about precautions and necessary steps to be taken while providing first aid like specialised medical treatment, burn injuries, wounds, fracture, unconsciousness and electric shocks at the scene of fire.
