Electoral Roll and Voting Process

The ECI has emphasized updating and maintaining pure electoral rolls, citing amendments in electoral roll procedures. Special summary revisions have been completed for all constituencies with specific qualifying dates, ensuring eligible citizens can enroll up to ten days before the last nomination date. Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs) and Voter Verified Paper Audit Trails (VVPATs) will be used at all polling stations. Voter identification can be done using EPIC or 12 alternate government-issued documents.

Model Code of Conduct and Transparency

The Model Code of Conduct is effective immediately in affected districts. Candidates with criminal antecedents and parties nominating them must declare such details in newspapers, television channels, official social media, and party websites, complying with Supreme Court guidelines. Details are also accessible through the ‘Know Your Candidates’ App. Further, candidates who have occupied government accommodation must obtain a "No Dues Certificate" from relevant departments before nomination.

This comprehensive announcement signals the ECI’s commitment to transparency, voter empowerment, and the smooth conduct of democratic processes for the upcoming bye-elections
