Convincing wins and spirited
chases mark action-packed day
Jammu, April 7, Tantray Sports Club and Rehari Kings XI registered impressive victories in their respective matches in the ongoing Ist Jambu Lochan T20 Cricket Tournament, organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Masters Games Association.
At Maulana Azad Stadium, Green Star Bhaderwah elected to bat first but failed to build momentum, getting bowled out for a modest 57 runs in 15 overs. Aamir Sheikh top-scored with 17 runs as the batting line-up struggled against a disciplined bowling attack.
Tantray Sports Club dominated with the ball, led by Arit Rai who delivered a superb spell of three wickets for just seven runs in three overs. Chasing the small target, Tantray SC cruised to an emphatic eight-wicket win. Vijay Dogra anchored the innings with an unbeaten 30, guiding his side comfortably to victory. Bashir Khalid and Adil Gaffoor picked up a wicket each for Green Star Bhaderwah.
In another league match, Shine Star Cricket Club posted a competitive 128 runs in their allotted 20 overs. Karan led the charge with a solid 44, while Raman Chargotra contributed 34 runs.
Rehari Kings XI responded with determination. Earlier, their bowlers Dr. Vishwa Pratap Singh and Kewal Kotwal had set the tone with three wickets apiece. In the chase, the team held their nerve despite losing wickets at regular intervals, eventually reaching the target in 19.4 overs. They sealed a thrilling win with just two balls remaining, finishing eight wickets down.
