JAMMU, MAY 09: A two-day honey extraction programme was conducted at DCTC Chimna Chak, Bishnah under the guidance of Director Agriculture Jammu Anil Gupta and supervision of the Committee for assessment of honey crop yield.
The extraction process was carried out in the presence of Assistant Entomologist Harvinder Singh; Program Officer Vivek Mahajan and entire team of apiculture development scheme.
The officers monitored the honey extraction activities and assessed the honey yield obtained from the bee colonies maintained at the centre. The exercise was aimed at evaluating the productivity of the honey crop and ensuring proper scientific management of apiculture activities.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Entomologist Jammu, Harvinder Singh highlighted the importance of scientific beekeeping practices for enhancing honey production and improving the livelihood of beekeepers.
The officers appreciated the efforts of the field staff and emphasized maintaining quality standards during honey extraction and processing activities.
